Senior Electrical Engineer

The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for our multi-billion dollar project in Doha, Qatar. You will perform engineering assignments using conventional or innovative engineering techniques and analysis under the guidance of a Senior Electrical Engineer. At this level, the Engineer is fully proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering) /CAD applications.
You will be responsible for the review and approval of all Electrical designs submitted for villas, low rise, and high rise towers submitted by sub developers during their services design stage and Civic buildings approval process to ensure the overall connected load and diversified loads do not exceed the allocated electrical loads.
Ensuring that all sub developer designs are in accordance with Kahramaa codes, standards and specifications
Implementing the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all sub developer electrical works submittals in accordance with program of work on the project under the guidance of LCAC’s Senior Electrical Engineer.
Liaising and co-ordinating with sub developers design consultants. Assists in defining the process for execution of engineering activities related to all types of electrical systems and to identify the need for specialty assistance.
Interface with Local Authorities and follow up on issuance of Electrical Building Permit applications.
Performs engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Regularly interfaces with other engineering disciplines as well as other Departments and Authorities.
Reviews design drawings and specifications that have been prepared by sub developers and provides comments on the results of the reviews.
Provides technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers and engineers working on the same project. Coordinates the activities of any electrical engineering staff under his control and coordinates with the Senior Electrical Engineer.
Understands all related codes and their application to the project and oversees and manages the interface with local agencies to co-ordinate design standards usage and monthly approvals process.
Maintains awareness of the project electrical specifications, drawings and design criteria
Provides regular reports on progress to the CAC Head of Technical Engineering Services.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
4-5 year degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
Grade A certified by Qatar MMUP and Kahramaa (able to obtain within 3 months of employment)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
10-15 years of related work experience
Design Consultancy background
Experience in review of electrical design within villas, low rise, mid rise, high rise residential and office towers.
Experience in HV/LV projects and electrical distribution , substations , controls and construction within office and residential buildings
Experienced in the interfacing of mechanical equipment with electrical controls systems.
Knowledge and experience with design of large scale electrical systems and infrastructure. Must have Qatar experience complemented with other experience, preferably GCC/Middle East.
Preferably Bilingual (Arabic/English) with excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Thorough understanding of International/Qatar local regulations, Codes and Standards
Has knowledge of interface components associated with HV/LV networks and substations. Satisfactory knowledge of materials and electro mechanical equipment and instruments.

Cavendish Professionals is looking for Corporate Legal Counsel to provide legal advice to the company in the areas of Corporate/Commercial legal issues and to work between English & Arabic in documents produced within or used by the Department.

Job purpose:

* Internal compliance
* Commercial contracts & procurement
* Issues relating to Qatar's laws as they apply to Qatar Rail, especially the Commercial Companies Law and laws relating to employment
* The development and maintenance of corporate policies such as Governance & Constitution documents
* The particular legislative framework(s) (existing & future) that affect or relate to the business of Qatar Rail.

Requirements
All suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:

* Tertiary Qualification in Law from a recognised institution & Admitted to recognised Bar
* Minimum experience of 8 years of Corporate Legal Practice or Law Practice
* Familiarity with the legal systems in the Middle East mandatory
* Familiarity with Qatar's laws highly desirable
* Experience in in-house roles highly desirable
* Corporate & Commercial law, including corporate compliance and governance
* Fluent in Arabic (written & spoken)
* Good English spoken & written essential
* Good advocacy skills
* Ability to work with Senior management and external govt. stakeholders
* Strong Legal Acumen
* Strategic Business Sense
