Control Room Technician

The Role
WTS Energy is currently looking for an Maintenance Electrical Technician to work in Oman on a rotational basis. The client is an international E&P operator.

Reporting to a Production Supervisor, the Control Room Technician has an important part of early operations engagement on the Project.

The early focus of the role is to embed practical operating experience in the day to day operating practices of the project development. The Control Room Technician is critical to assuring the facility is operated in a safe and efficient manner.

The Control Room Technician supports the development of staff to client requirements.

The role presents a rare opportunity to be part of establishing a new operating centre, which will aspire to the highest operating standards, comparable with the best of facilities worldwide.

As an International Rotator, the role will be based at the onshore gas processing facility and will be involved with the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up activities.

- Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up activities.
- Monitor & Control the process plant ensuring optimisation within the designed envelope.
- Respond appropriately to emergency and critical situations.
- Coaching and mentoring of technicians and trainees, to aid in the development of a fully competent operations workforce.
Requirements
- NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in a suitable Engineering discipline,
- 10 years of experience
- Experience as a qualified CRT/ Board Operator in a gas, oil or petrochemical processing facility.
- Experience control of work processes and safety rules.
- Demonstrated commitment to HSSE with strong safety behaviours demonstrated in previous roles.
- High commitment to coaching and training in a diverse cultural environment.
- An open and flexible work attitude with commitment to teamwork.

Our client is looking for a Senior Planning Manager/Planning Manager to join their well established organisation.

In this position you will be required to manage and support the planning team with the following tasks:
- Manage and review the preparation of daily / weekly / monthly progress reports

Senior Engineer - Power Generation

The Role
- In liaison with the Contract Engineer, execute Tender preparation, evaluation, award & execution of Contracts.
- Supervising the work of the contractors, checking and certifying of execution documentation & reports.
- Managing all interfaces between various departments and/or entities (Client/PMC, Contractors and Vendors) involved in the execution of Project.
- Coordinate within the project team to ensure Contractor interface issues are prioritized and addressed in time to achieve project objectives and milestones.

- 10 years relevant experiences leading multidisciplinary teams on a Mega Projects within Oil & Gas and Power Generation inclusive of minimum 7 years in a Project Engineering position.
- Experience in PDO / Brown & Greenfield Projects will be an advantage

Technical and Business:
- Experience with FEED and EPC phases of the project.
- Experience with industry design standards, codes and regulations on Power Generation, Oil & Gas and Refinery projects.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality results on-time in field of expertise

General Manager - Gabbro

The Role
Our client, one of the leaders in the excavation and production of building materials is seeking a general manager to lead their Gabbro Business.

The GM is responsible to manage, lead and direct the Gabbro mining company business units for Quarry/plant operations. He/she needs to ensure that business activities are carried effectively within set target and in accordance with local regulations and high quality standards whilst constantly having an overview of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate business planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop a business strategy that aligns with the Holding Company’s overall vision and the short-term and long-term business objectives of subsidiary.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of managers and professionals to achieve established goals by developing and maintaining a high performance team culture through effective performance management, motivation and coaching of managers
- Formulation of Annual budget preparation
- Responsible to oversee business development and production planning and ensure the company smooth production and sales
- Develop an annual production plan in line with budget and business plan and assure continuous quarrying and crushing of high quality gabbro produce
- Deliver targets and productivity improvements contained in the company’s business plans and budgetary requirements relating to the operations department
- Responsible for the application of externally imposed and internally generated safety standards throughout the company to meet specific safety plans and targets
- Ensure, through continual monitoring and auditing, that professional standards are being consistently applied and adhered to
- Drive performance and put in place processes, systems and procedures to minimise delays and disruptions to the company
- Analyse the needs of the organisation and customer to determine strategic directions and goals
- Ensure that all staff are trained/skilled, competent and fit to perform their responsibilities with minimum breakdown at operation
- Ensure the firm is properly resourced to carry out its business, regulatory and legal objectives
- Ensure communication of and commitment to company policies by all staff and maintain an atmosphere of positive and pro-active staff relations
- Analyze current market/industry trends and formulate strategies for possible expansion and acquisitions that could contribute to the growth of firm
- To provide weekly and monthly reporting to the CEO on the company's financial and technical performance, bring to the attention any strategic and operational issues affecting the company.

Main Challenges of the Role:
- Managing a diverse team of experts in a dynamic environment.
- Implementation of business plans according to the key performance indicators
- Managing the change processes in the organization which occurs after the implementation of strategic plans

Scope and Complexity:
- Maintain a general oversight of the company as well as working closely with direct line managers, constantly analysing the needs of the organisation and community to determine strategic directions and goals
Requirements
- Graduation in Business Administration or Science
- Engineering in mining technology or geological science will be preferred
- Minimum 10 years working in the mining or crushing industry
- Demonstrate business understanding with impeccable integrity
- Background in general industry, with relevance to the operations of firm

Knowledge/skills:
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgment within gabbro mining and crushing industry
- Thorough knowledge of mining activity as it relates to the operation of the mine and quarry
- Excellent Computer and Communications Skills
- Proven leadership skills with demonstrated ability to articulate the corporate vision and translate that into effective strategic initiatives and operational plans
- Must be a skilled manager in communicating, motivating and developing staff
- Must be able to communicate effectively with third party delivery partners, consultants, contractors and staff
- Energetic and with flexibility to respond quickly and effectively to high workloads, unplanned events and emergencies
- Excellent analytical reasoning ability and capable of making decisions on complex matters.
