The Role
We are
looking for an individual to join our rapidly developing Assurance practice at
Manager level.
This role reports to and is coached by the Assurance Partners and will provide you with experience of working on highly prestigious accounts, exposure to senior management & partners of the firm as well as exposure to current thinking in Corporate Governance & Risk Management.
You will be a leading implementer for International Financial Reporting Standard and have exposure to high profile complex & judgmental issues.
You will have a key management role on audit assignments where you will utilise & further develop your International Standards of Auditing knowledge & skills

- CA / ACCA
/ CPA qualified with broad ranging audit experience including planning,
controlling & completing a diverse range of assignments
- Minimum two years of experience at a reputable international audit firm
- A proactive approach to problem solving & delivering client solutions
- Strong project management skills & experience of working on large group audits to supervise and coach Audit Seniors and Associates
- Practical experience of working on IFRS audits
- Strong command of International Standards of Auditing
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues & clients at all levels
- A proven track record of establishing & maintaining strong relationships

Our Client
is one of the world’s highest-capitalised Islamic reinsurance entities. They
are currently looking to recruit Head of Finance Tech Accounts to be based in
Bahrain.
Reporting Line: CEO / Group CFO
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reviewing bank reconciliations
- Reviewing investment instructions sent to banks & making sure that they are in alignment with the approved instruction
- Reviewing Trust statements of accounts and their reconciliations
- Reviewing & approving purchase orders.
- Reporting any outstanding payables that needs to be settled
- Strategic financial analysis and planning
- Budgeting planning review and analysis
- Responsible for the technical accounts administration for both facultative and treaty business
- Monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of all technical bookings, generating reports and statistics
- Supervising and motivating technical accounting staff and responsible for the development of their skills and knowledge, and ensuring adherence to company standards, policies and procedures
- Liaising with Underwriting & Claims department on technical accounting matters and any other related duties as instructed by the management from time to time
- Responsible for implementing commercial credit policies and effective credit management practices to ensure that company’s exposure to bad debts are minimized and collections are effected on a timely basis
- Corresponding with the Central Bank and other regulatory bodies on legal and regulatory issues
- Ensuring timely submission of various statutory returns required by the Central Bank & other regulatory bodies.
- Providing day-to-day direction and working with staff to ensure high performance and work environment that supports achieving the company’s mission, strategic plan, objectives and values
- Establishing and reviewing internal control procedures, mapping & preparing business processes, identifying weaknesses and advising on rectification of controls to enhance efficiency

Requirements
- Degree in
Accounting and preference is given to professional qualifications (CA, ACCA,
CMA, CIMA).
- At least 5 years of accounting experience with a solid technical background in financial accounting insurance and reinsurance industries;
- Strong analysis and reporting skills to ensure high standard of management and other reports with working knowledge of pivots and financial modeling;
- Well versed in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
- Experience in SAP FICO.
