Mechanical and Piping Engineer

The Role
To provide Mechanical and Piping support according to Class and applicable regulations in respect of, but not limited to, vessel dockings, repairs, upgrades, conversions and other vessel new build and maintenance issues.

Technical

• Formulate technical proposals and scopes detailing the technical requirements and parameters for ship’s equipment and machinery based on defined requirements and ensure compliance with applicable classification and other relevant regulatory bodies’ rules and guidelines.
• Participate in the evaluation, selection and scrunty of major equipment, determine the most economic technical solution and advise drydock superintendents and procurement engineers on all mechanical and piping related issues.
• Preparation of all required documentation to support equipment installation activities including writing of testing and commissioning procedures.
• Prepare sketches and basic concept design drawings for any newly proposed vessels.
• Participate in annual review and evaluate projects to determine success and how improvements can be made in the future report and present findings.
• Work with Fleet Technical Superintendents and give Mechanical and Piping related drawing and design support as required.

Planning and Cost Control
• Participate with planning and reporting meetings as required.
• Assist in the preparation of work plans following a logical sequence and optimizing resources.
• Monitor repair / project costs against budget on a daily basis and report any deviations immediately.

Reporting
• Ensure Fleet Technical Superintendents are kept fully informed on progress of work on a daily basis or as instructed in accordance with company procedures.
• Provide written reports as required, detailing in service repairs, dry-docking repairs and surveys.
• Keep accurate daily logs of work progress and include photographic support as appropriate.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• BE / B.Tech – Marine / Mechanical Engineering

Minimum Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in a shipyard/design office guiding and leading a team of Mech/Piping Engineers.
• Should have independently handled complex shipbuilding/conversion projects

Job-Specific Skills:
• Well versed with Class rules and IACS Standards for Mechanical and Piping Design.
• Must be proficient in AutoCad.
• Knowledge of Shipbuilding production software and 3D modelling which includes: NUPAS CADMATIC, TRIBON, CATIA, SC and Rhino.
• Thorough knowledge of major Class Societies requirements (ABS, DNV-GL, BV)
• Good knowledge of SOLAS/MARPOL and other statutory regulations.
• Exposure to FAT’s, Site Surveys, Dock and Sea Trials is mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of a Planned Maintenance System (AMOS, NS5, etc…)

Planning Engineer Infrastructure

The Role
Minimum overall 10 years experience including at least 4 years site experience outside planning/scheduling role on general Infrastructure, Roads and Bridges construction and have demonstrated management of a team over multiple concurrently running projects.

Shall have intermediate to advanced contract knowledge and be able to prepare, monitor and analyse contract programs and internal recovery programs, produce and review reports for both project and management teams, identify and analyse delays and opportunities, communicate with the project team as well as other contract stakeholders (i.e. program related claims etc.) .
Requirements
Candidate must have Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Be a self starter and can work autonomously to manage and mentor junior staff over multiple projects. Primavera Version 6.0 and above is Essential. Fluent in written and verbal English mandatory.

Salary: AED 15 - 25 K (all incl.)
