The Role
An international luxury department store renowned for their premium, contemporary and designer fashion is seeking a Merchandiser to manage the Menswear, Kidswear, Home and Gifting divisions. We are seeking an individual who has strong merchandising experience within a recognised premium/luxury department store. This role will be based in Doha - Qatar and report directly into the Head of Merchandising. You will be managing a team of around 2 to 3 people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is seeking an international challenge in the Middle East with a globally recognised brand. This role requires an experienced merchandising professional who has experience working across multiple product categories.

Responsibilities:
* Partner with cross-functional team members to develop the department store assortments to ensure that the collection is commercially viable and provides an exciting customer store experience
* Develop a high performance team who consistently exceed expectations
* Communicate seasonal department strategies to key functional areas in order to focus the overall strategy
* Develop business plans contributing to the overall business objectives of the department store
* Build seasonal range plans and pricing strategies to achieve sales, stock and profit targets
* Establish & manage best in class merchandising practices including size of range, style productivity targets, minimum order targets, pricing architecture, product life cycle, product phasing and trading periods.
* Carry out day to day controls through reviews and forecasting of sales (sell in & sell through), tracking of production costs and delivery schedules and the highlighting of areas of risk and opportunity.
* Maximize profit and turnover through margin, mark-down maintenance and promotional activities.
* Work closely with the store staff to educate them on the product as well as understand customer feedback regarding the product
* Identify business opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance and gathering marketplace information
* Gain approval for the Department's seasonal investments and quarterly financial plans.
* Formulate Department pricing strategies.
Requirements
* 5 - 7 years of merchandising experience (menswear experience is strongly preferred)
* Ability to travel across the GCC and internationally
* Previous managerial is essential
* Excellent commercial acumen and forecasting skills
* Experienced in setting and monitoring strict critical paths, highly organised and efficient
* Ability to adapt and work well within a multicultural team
* Strong knowledge of planning systems
