The Role
Position
Overview:
The Resident Engineer (Traffic Management) is part of the shared services team. He will provide all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team with respect to planning, detailing and securing the approval of all traffic diversions by the Contractor. He will manage the traffic during the construction including monitoring the traffic flow and implementation of all necessary changes as required.
Job Accountabilities:
• Review, discuss and approve / reject the traffic diversion and traffic management plans by the Contractor.
• Coordinate with the contractors traffic engineers to ensure that the submitted traffic arrangements are acceptable and to speed up the approvals by the authorities.
• Coordinate with Client, the Engineer (PMC) and the traffic police to ensure approval of the traffic diversion and traffic management plan.
• Review and approve the prepared drawings by the Contractor.
• Sign the final approved traffic diversion and traffic arrangements plan.
• Monitor the traffic diversions and traffic arrangements during construction and advise the SRE and the Contractor on all necessary required changes.
• Coordinate with the client traffic inspectors to ensure safe traffic arrangements.
• Arrange inspection on regular basis to ensure proper arrangements and safe traffic circulation during the whole period of construction.
• Coordinate with all concerned Resident Engineers and the Senior Safety Engineer about the safety in general and the safety of the traffic diversion.

• Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts.
• Provides specialist services in support of project requirements.
• Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized principles.
• Min of 14 postgraduate years of experience and a min. of 7 years of similar work experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Regional experience is a must.

The Role
Position
Overview:
The Resident Engineer (Roads, Drainage & Utilities) will assist the Senior Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project, with specific duties related to the work on the road, storm drainage and sewage, utilities and associated works. He will supervise the work of the site engineers and the work inspectors working on the construction supervision of the road works, storm drainage and sewage works, utilities and the associated works.
Job Accountabilities:
• Direct the site supervision related to road works, drainage, utilities and associated works including the pipes, manholes, chambers, gullies, etc.
• Coordinate his direct activities with the other discipline RE’s to maintain consistency and integrity in the overall construction.
• Responsible for reviewing all shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, any requests for information relating to the drainage and associated works.
• Coordinate with Parsons' Design Engineers for resolution of related issues.
• Maintain the Resident Engineer’s daily diary and daily diaries and reports completed by his subordinates.
• Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.
• Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of the road works, drainage & utilities works and associated works including the site engineers, the work inspectors and the surveyors.
• Coordinate with Client/PMC, the Contractor and related concerned authorities.
• Advise on contractual and construction matters regarding roads and drainage work and associated works, utilities diversions and installations, traffic diversions, and other related works.
• Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of the roads and drainage and associated works.
• Liaise with all parties for site safety.
• Convene and chair regular site meetings about issues related to roads, drainage & utility works and related activities.
• Issue additional drawings etc. as required in coordination with the design office.
• Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
• Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
• Act positively, and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Senior Resident Engineer, and the Project Safety Representative.
• Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
• Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions with respect to road works, drainage works, utilities and other related activities.
• Report back as necessary to the Senior Resident Engineer.
• Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs. programmed work.
