The Role
Our client
is a leading Property Developer in Bahrain. On behalf of our client, we are
recruiting an experienced Head of Legal & Compliance
Responsibilities:
- To manage and address all legal matters affecting the organization by keeping the management team aware of all legal matters and assisting other managers and departments with any legal concerns as well as reviewing any contracts or agreements in order to minimize legal risk for the organization ,and for ensuring compliance of all activities with legal and regulatory requirements. This role is expected to ensure compliance with external and internal audit requirements. This role also develops and monitors controls to ensure that all business activities are aligned to the internal policies and procedures of the organization.
- Defines and adjusts the role boundaries, workflow processes and job design against laid down service delivery requirements and statutory regulations
- Determines staffing levels and fills vacancies to complement functional objectives and requirements
- Participates in the recruitment and selection process, approving minimum design and specifications for inclusion into job advertisements and evaluates applicant’s suitability through analysis of selected short-listed curriculum vitas and interviews
- Influences, communicates, motivates and inspires team members to achieve departmental objectives
- Monitors and follow-ups on specific tasks and project deliverables
- Compiles, controls and monitors the budget in accordance with budget allocation/limits
- Provide legal counsel, assistance and general business advise by making necessary recommendations on legal matters
- Manage legal department function and reduce company use of external legal advice
- Provides legal support and advice, including interpretation of regulatory developments as well as drafting and implementing policies and procedures where applicable
- Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, agreements and internal policies and verifies that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
