Site Architect

The Role
As a provider of multi-disciplined technical services to the built environment, Atkins Middle East is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine, innovation, imagination and best practice.

Due to our continuing expansion we now require an Architect –Site to work on a variety of construction projects. The role will involve the inspection of architectural finishing works, the review and approval of contractor submittals, resolve technical issues arising and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Working in a multidiscipline team of designers and engineers providing a comprehensive service to our clients, this is a great opportunity to gain experience within an internationally renowned consultancy, affording the opportunity to work on large and small scale multidiscipline projects, in Bahrain and potentially the rest of the Middle East region.

Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility of Architectural works in the project and certify on completion the installation.
- Monitor performance of the Contractor I Sub-contractor and identify, raise any quality issue
- Review quality procedures and effectively implement plans across the project. Identify any particular site safety issues and bring to the notice of the contractor.
- Mentor the discipline staff on any advancement of process, procedures and technical skills.
Requirements
- Degree qualified
- Around 8 years experience in the field of Architecture & Design
- Must have integrity, initiative, and be flexible and proactive
- Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team
- Experience of interpreting and understanding local utilities rules, regulations and design guides
- Understanding of British, American and International design standards
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit
- Good level of computer literacy in MS Office
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English is essential
- Good team worker, able to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Good report writing skills is essential.

Manager/ Assistant Manager - Financial Risk Management

The Role
- Assist in the growth of the Risk Consulting practice across the region
- Take an active role in the leadership of the team and growing risk-related services
- Take responsibility for innovation and development
- Lead large scale and complex projects - provide subject matter expertise on engagements
- Model validation exercises
- Capital adequacy assessments (regulatory)
- Undertake ICAAP and Basel compliance reviews
- Develop Credit Rating Models
- Develop public disclosure guidelines and tool for banks to achieve Pillar III compliance
- Develop Operational Risk frameworks for measuring and monitoring operational risk e.g. KRIs, RCSAs, AMA models and loss databases.
- Undertake internal audits of financial service clients - banks/ insurance companies - in risk management, treasury and credit operations.
Requirements
The client has a preference for British Nationals, although all candidates who meet the requirements will be considered.

- Prior experience in a 'big 4' business strongly preferred
- Experience working in a mature market i.e. London, Singapore, Hong Kong, New York etc.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative risk management skills.
- A degree from a leading international university in Finance/ Accounting/ Business or related subject.
- Post graduate qualifications e.g. CA, FRM, CFA, MBA
- 8 - 10 years experience in risk management or related areas within financial services
- Experience designing and implementing Enterprise Risk Management frameworks would be advantageous.
- Ability to execute compliance advisory engagements
- Knowledge of Islamic Banking and Hedge Fund Industry would be an advantage.
